St Joseph’s College Alumni Launch ₦250m Projects Ahead of 70th Anniversary

Alumni of St Joseph’s College, Ondo, have unveiled plans to execute ₦250 million worth of legacy projects to mark the institution’s 70th anniversary in 2026.

President of the school’s Old Boys Association (SJCOBA), Nobilitas Olusola Akinniyi, said the projects would cover the refurbishment of classrooms and other facilities, provision of online learning tools, welfare support for students and staff, and the establishment of a ₦50 million endowment fund.

The platinum jubilee celebrations are scheduled to begin on March 16 2026, featuring debates, sports competitions, a medical outreach, an anniversary lecture, and the commissioning of completed projects.

Akinniyi said the association had launched a fundraising drive to meet the ₦250 million target, with each graduating set expected to contribute at least ₦500,000. Additional funding will come from corporate sponsorships, individual donations, souvenir sales, and crowdfunding by alumni within and outside Nigeria.

He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening the legacy of the institution and ensuring that the anniversary leaves a lasting impact beyond the celebrations.
