The Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Bashir Garba, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s education policies, saying they are already transforming Nigeria’s higher education sector.
Speaking at the university’s 50th anniversary and 42nd convocation ceremony, Prof. Garba noted that improved funding frameworks and policy reforms under the current administration are boosting academic quality and giving institutions more autonomy. He described the changes as laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth in universities.
At the event, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, who represented the President, restated the federal government’s promise to make quality education available to every Nigerian. She highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the major policies created to assist students and ease the financial burden of schooling.
