UDUS Students Allege NELFUND Fraud

Students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University (UDUS) have accused the school management of misusing their NELFUND loan refunds through portal manipulations.

According to the students, NELFUND had already disbursed approved loans to the university for eligible applicants. Many students were surprised when they could not find their refunds, saying the school created fake academic levels on their portals just to hold back the money.

A final-year law student said the university added an extra “200 level,” which made their five-year course become six years. The school then claimed the loan refunds to cover this new “debt.” Another student also shared that the school inserted an additional “UG2” level and used it to clear debts that were never there.

So far, all efforts to solve the matter through official school channels have not worked. Students are now frustrated and afraid they may never get their refunds. The allegations by the students have caused tension on campus and raised serious concerns about how NELFUND disbursements are being managed.
