The Director of the University of Ilorin’s Directorate of Computer-Based Test (CBT), Prof. Kamilu Rauf, has described this year’s Post-UTME screening exercise as a huge success, attributing it to the institution’s robust infrastructure and the orderly conduct of the candidates.
Speaking in an interview, Rauf said the university remains “far ahead of other institutions” in organising large-scale CBTs. The screening, which began with underage candidates on August 28 and officially commenced on September 1, concluded on September 4 with a mop-up session for those who were absent.
Out of the 21,971 candidates who applied, about 13,000 are expected to gain admission, in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines.
Rauf went on to highlight the university’s investment in state-of-the-art facilities, noting that six halls, each equipped with 250 computers, ensured smooth operations. He also praised candidates for their discipline and compliance with university regulations, which contributed to the seamless exercise.
He attributed the success of the screening to the collective efforts of CBT staff, security personnel, health workers, and ad-hoc personnel, while commending Vice Chancellor Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole (SAN), Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Odunola Bakare, and the technical support team for their support.
