Prof Salihu Moyosore Ajao, a lecturer with the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and the institution’s immediate past chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has been appointed the pioneer Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Kwara State University, Malete.
The appointment was contained in a letter sent to him by the Registrar of the University, Dr Wasilat Kikelomo Salle, recently. The appointment was earlier announced by the KWASU Vice Chancellor, Prof Sheikh Luqman Jimoh, during a meeting of the University Senate last Tuesday.
The former ASUU Chairman, who is also a Professor of Anatomy and immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Ilorin, has since assumed his new position.
Ajao, who is currently on sabbatical leave at KWASU, thanked the authorities of the State University for the opportunity given him to make an impact on the institution, recalling that as a Visiting Dean, he had helped establish the KWASU Medical School. With the new position, he vows to take the school to the next level.
