WACT-APM Terminals Nigeria has commissioned a newly renovated 10-room Teachers’ Quarters in Ogu, Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The facility, originally built in 2012, has been upgraded to provide teachers with more modern and conducive accommodation.
Chief Finance Officer of APM Terminals Nigeria, Courage Obadagbonyi, said the project is a result of the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility across education, health, training, and infrastructure. He noted that better living conditions for teachers have a direct impact on student performance.
The organisation’s Community Relations Manager, Justin Okwuofu, said the renovation was necessary after the facility became dilapidated over the years.
The Secretary of the Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs, Chief Lawrence Tokuibiye Ogobo-Inuma, praised the company for what he described as a timely intervention that would have a lasting effect on education in the community.
