Advocates Install Solar Power in Schools

Music Declares Emergency, the U.S., and The ClimateMusic Project have installed solar power at Wisdom Academy School in Warri, Delta State.

The school not only lacked electricity, but also had no computers, air conditioners, or fans. The desire to change this narrative began when Mr. Idowu Esuku, a Nigerian musician also known as Mr. Climate-man, visited the school in 2024 to launch the ‘Be Cool Campaign.’ In an interview, Esuku stated that he believes renewable energy can address the energy crisis threatening sustainable global development. He also noted that it can raise awareness about climate change.
