Anambra Sweeps 2025 Presidential Teachers’ Awards with Nine Honours

Anambra State has reaffirmed its education leadership, winning nine honours at the 2025 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Awards held at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Woliwo Primary School II, Onitsha, emerged as the overall best school in Nigeria, receiving a 16-seater bus as the star prize. Pinkberry International School, Odume Obosi, was named first runner-up for Best Approved Private Primary School. Additionally, Emmanuel Ndibe of St. Theresa’s Secondary School, Enugwu Ukwu, and Nkechi Ikedi of Pinkberry International School won runner-up positions in their respective categories.

Government Secondary School, Ojoto, and Igbariam Farm Settlement Primary School were recognised among public institutions, alongside several administrators from Anambra who earned first runner-up positions. Each awardee received a laptop and other prizes.

Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Olatunji Alausa, commended Anambra for its consistent excellence. The state’s Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, represented by Dr Ifeoma Agbaizu, attributed the success to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s reforms, including teacher recruitment, free education, and innovative school initiatives.
