The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed a Principal Assistant Education Officer, Mr. Amos Joshua, for allegedly sexually harassing a student at Government College, Azare.
The decision was announced after the Commission’s 32nd plenary session, which concluded disciplinary proceedings against the officer. His actions were classified as serious misconduct under the Bauchi State Public Service Rules.
Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, stated that the dismissal was necessary to maintain discipline and integrity in the civil service. “This decision is not punitive but a necessary measure to uphold discipline, integrity, and accountability within the civil service,” he stated.
The Commission stressed that the move should serve as a warning that ethical conduct is non-negotiable for public servants.
In the same sitting, several promotions were approved, including the elevation of two Deputy Directors to substantive Directors, and the advancement of 80 health workers across different levels.
