Bitget, a global cryptocurrency and Web3 exchange, has convened hundreds of young Nigerians in Lagos for a community education day focused on blockchain, digital assets, and access to global stock markets through tokenisation.
The event featured lectures, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions on how blockchains operate, the use of custodial and non-custodial wallets, deposits and withdrawals via local channels, as well as spot, futures, and copy trading. Participants were also introduced to research methods for verifying investment projects.
A key session explored how tokenisation is broadening access to global stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), enabling Nigerians to gain exposure to companies like Tesla and Microsoft, as well as market-tracking funds. The organisers said the integration of traditional finance with blockchain is lowering barriers to international investing.
“Education is at the heart of our mission. By creating spaces like this in Lagos, we give communities practical tools to navigate blockchain from the right sources,” said Bitget Chief Operating Officer, Vugar Usi Zade.
