Borno Governor Commissions Nursing College, others in Gwoza

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State, commissions the newly established Gwoza College of Nursing and Midwifery

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has commissioned three major projects in Gwoza Local Government Area, aimed at strengthening healthcare, education, and commerce in the region.

The projects include the newly established Gwoza College of Nursing and Midwifery, a block of 20 teachers’ quarters, and 200 lock-up shops at the Gwoza Main Market.

Speaking during the ceremony, Zulum described the projects as part of efforts to rebuild and reposition communities that have long been affected by insurgency. He said the nursing college would serve as a centre for training professionals dedicated to preserving lives, while the market shops would enhance local trade and boost internally generated revenue.

To further support healthcare delivery, the governor announced the recruitment of 50 nurses for the General Hospital in Gwoza. He explained that the hospital would also serve as a reference facility for students of the new nursing college.
