Mr. Oko Sunday, the General Manager of Cross River State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (CRS-RUWATSSA), has called for the integration of menstrual hygiene education and nutritional support into school health programmes. He emphasised that the integration will benefit young school girls, particularly in rural communities.
Sunday made the call after celebrating the World Menstrual Hygiene and Nutrition Day in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Cross River State. The CRS-RUWATSSA General Manager stated that he would raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and nutrition in rural communities while exploring ways to distribute menstrual kits and products to the general public. Mr Bassey Inyang, the Principal of Government Secondary School, Ikot Ewa, showed his appreciation of the successful completion of the event.
