Retired Air Marshal Al-Amin Dagash, the former Chief of Defence Staff, has urged Nigerian military officers to adopt practical and principled leadership to address the country’s growing security challenges.
He appealed on Saturday in Abuja during the 30th Anniversary Reunion Dinner of the NDA 47th Regular Course, where he emphasised that modern threats require leaders who are hands-on, adaptable, and inspiring. “We need mentors who can guide the next generation with integrity and courage,” he said, adding that leadership today goes beyond giving commands.
Dagash also commended the 47th Regular Course for organising the reunion to promote solidarity, honour fallen colleagues, and support widows and less privileged members. His remarks highlight the need for a new leadership culture in Nigeria’s military hierarchy.
