The Edo Forum of Patriots (EFP) has congratulated Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu on her appointment as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
In a statement signed by Amb. Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo, representative of the Board of Trustees, and Hon. Pascal Ugbome, Chairman of the Transition Management Committee, described the appointment as a recognition of Prof. Ize-Iyamu’s exceptional expertise and dedication to Nigeria’s healthcare system.
EFP said her elevation was not just a personal achievement but a source of pride for the Edo people. “We are incredibly proud that one of our distinguished daughters has attained such a prestigious position, bringing honour to her family, the medical community, and the entire Edo nation,” the statement read. The forum further urged Prof. Ize-Iyamu to continue her commitment to excellence, noting that her new role offers an opportunity to advance quality healthcare delivery and strengthen UBTH’s position as a leading medical institution in Nigeria.
