Federal Government Reaffirms Commitment to Skills Development

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its dedication to providing Nigerians with practical and employable skills by implementing the National Policy on Skills Development in Formal and Non-Formal Education.

The policy covers reforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), teacher training, strong public-private partnerships, non-formal education, and the curriculum. Speaking at a sensitisation workshop, Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, said the policy targets formal learners in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, and informal learners.

He added that critical thinking, digital literacy, hands-on training, and vocational skills will be integrated into the curriculum of both learner categories.
