Federal Polytechnic Daura Gets N750m for Skills, Equipment

The Federal Polytechnic, Daura, in Katsina State, has received N750 million from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to enhance skill development and upgrade its equipment. The Rector, Prof. Aliyu Mamman, made this known at a press conference ahead of the school’s second convocation.

He explained that N350 million was allocated for skill development, and another N400 million for equipment and laboratory upgrades. The funds have enhanced the school’s practical training, with eight labs now powered by solar energy, thereby avoiding power failures during student practicals.

Prof. Mamman thanked Tetfund for the support and said the intervention has made a big difference in the school. He also announced that 408 students from 11 departments will graduate at the convocation ceremony on Saturday. In addition, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved 11 Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the polytechnic, marking a significant step in the school’s growth.
