Foundation, FUTO Train Students on Job Skills

Regalo Hope Foundation has partnered with the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), to equip students with practical skills needed for future jobs.

The partnership was announced during the 2025 Youth Development Workshop held in Owerri. Chinenye Onuorah, Founder and Project Director of the Foundation, said the aim is to bridge the gap between academic success and employability. “We want students to have both good grades and the right skills to succeed in the labour market,” she said. The workshop focused on digital and industrial-based skills needed outside the classroom. Onuorah also called on the Federal Government to support similar youth empowerment initiatives through partnerships with private organisations.

Director of FUTO Career Service Centre, Prof. Oforegbunam Ebiringa, added that many graduates are not job-ready due to a lack of practical training. He stressed the need to rethink university education to reduce youth unemployment and better prepare students for the real world.
