The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, is undergoing a sweeping transformation driven by a renewed commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and institutional integrity under the leadership of Rector, Professor Gozie Ogbodo.
In recent months, the institution has launched a series of initiatives aimed at repositioning IMT as a hub of technical education and entrepreneurship. From infrastructural upgrades to strategic partnerships with organisations like Dewdrop Institute, ISPIC, and ULI Furniture, IMT is expanding its academic and vocational offerings, equipping students with globally relevant skills. A zero-tolerance stance on academic malpractice, the successful accreditation of 34 programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the introduction of IMT Bread under its new enterprise wing reflect a dynamic leadership approach aligned with the development vision of Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah.
The unveiling of the KUK Arena in honour of the late Elder K.U. Kalu and the establishment of innovation-driven academies underscore the institution’s commitment to celebrating excellence, preserving legacies, and strengthening its internal capacity for growth. Staff and students have expressed confidence in what many now refer to as the “New IMT,” a model of results-driven governance and institutional revitalisation.
