The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, through the Nigeria Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (NIPEDS), has exposed 520 fake A-level results that candidates used for Direct Entry Admissions in the country.
In an interview, Prof. Yahuza Bello, the NIPEDS Chairman, stated that the fake results were discovered during the verification of certificates for some Direct Entry candidates from 2019 to 2024. Yahuza noted that necessary steps have been taken to handle the situation. In addition, he stated that the NIPEDS has screened 9,460 certificates and discovered 213 fake ones through the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programme.
