The Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU) has appointed Professor Anthony Kila as its new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The appointment, confirmed in August in a letter signed by the university’s Visitor, Dr Cecilia Ibru, and Registrar, Dr T. Kolo, positions Kila at the forefront of the institution’s governance and strategic development.
Kila, a political economist, international jurist and Jean Monnet Professor, is a prominent academic and public analyst with decades of experience in education, governance and international development. The university said his appointment marks a new phase in its mission to deliver quality education and strengthen leadership development in Nigeria.
Reacting to the announcement, Professor Kila expressed gratitude to the Governing Council and pledged to work closely with the Vice Chancellor, staff and stakeholders to enhance MCIU’s reputation for excellence. “Education is the most enduring and sustainable investment one can make for the future. At MCIU, we have the honour and responsibility of shaping the next generation of leaders who will drive positive transformation, not only within Nigeria but across the world,” he said.
