MTN Nigeria, a telecommunications company, has donated 750 digital tablets to 15 secondary schools in Borno State on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Tijani Salihu, the MTN Acting Managing Director covering Borno, Yobe, and Gombe, admonished principals and teachers to see the tablets as a tool to promote learning and spark curiosity.
He added that President Tinubu formed the idea of donating the tablets to schools to promote the digital literacy agenda. Lawan Wakilbe, Borno’s Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, appreciated MTN, emphasising that the donation will aid computer literacy, which is a part of the state’s 10-year strategic plan.
