The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise for Basic Training School Batch 38.
In a statement, the Navy announced that online registration will be available from October 2 to 31, 2025, and is free of charge. Interested applicants are to apply at www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng.
The Navy said only Nigerian citizens by birth who possess a National Identification Number (NIN) are eligible. Applicants must have no prior convictions and must not be affiliated with secret societies or fraternities.
Educational requirements include a minimum of five credits in English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, no earlier than 2015. Age limits vary: 18–22 for O’Level holders, 18–26 for OND/NCE, and up to 28 for Chaplain/Imam Assistants and Drivers/Mechanics. Professions such as nursing or medical assisting require registration with professional bodies, while tradesmen must present Trade Test certificates.
The recruitment examination will be held on November 29, 2025, at designated centres nationwide. Successful candidates will undergo basic military training before being enlisted as Ordinary Seamen.
The Navy warned against multiple applications and urged candidates to seek clarification only through its official helplines or email.
