Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, has disclosed that the state has started implementing the Federal Government’s new approved curriculum to ensure that students achieve optimal performance.
Recall that the Federal Government has approved subject offerings for Nigeria’s newly revised Basic and Senior Secondary Education Curriculum. A statement by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, NERDC, signed by its Executive Secretary, Prof Salisu Shehu, states that the reforms are designed to reduce curriculum overload and ensure positive learning outcomes for pupils.
While monitoring the first term resumption in the Remo, Ijebu and Egba axes of the state on Tuesday, the Ogun commissioner assured that all necessary measures had been put in place to enhance teaching and improve knowledge transfer.
These measures, he said, include the massive supply of furniture to all flagship schools, the construction and rehabilitation of classrooms and laboratories, and the provision of modern office and toilet facilities to make the teaching and learning process more conducive.
