The Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the University of Ilorin says it is ready to take an active part in the university’s 50th anniversary celebration.
The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ganiyu Amuda-Yusuf, said this during an interview on June 23, 2025. He noted that, despite being the youngest faculty in the university, it is fully prepared for the golden jubilee. He highlighted the involvement of the Architecture Department in designing key anniversary projects, such as the Central Innovation Hub and Motor Park.
The Urban and Regional Planning Department also assisted in updating the university’s long-term Master Plan, which covers areas such as housing, transportation, power, and green spaces. The Dean added that the faculty is also partnering with universities in Malaysia and Estonia and will host an international conference in 2025. He praised the Vice Chancellor’s support and urged for more infrastructure to complete the Faculty’s development.
