BUK Expels 57 Students Over Examination Misconduct

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has expelled 57 students over examination misconduct, following a resolution reached at its 427th Senate meeting held on September 10 2025.

The decision, the school stated, was made strictly in accordance with its General Examination and Academic Regulations (GEAR), which govern the conduct of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Malam Aminu Wada Kurawa, Director of the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions, and Records (DEAR).

The affected students cut across several faculties and departments. In addition to the expulsion, eight students were expelled, while two others were cleared of wrongdoing after a thorough review.

The university emphasised that the disciplinary action reflects its zero-tolerance policy regarding academic dishonesty.
