A student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) has gone viral on social media after posting a video about food items stolen from her hostel during the school break.
In the clip, shared on TikTok under the account @baby___marvel, she stated that her room had been securely locked and stocked before she left for the holidays, but it was broken into. Upon her return, she found that most of her provisions were missing, including spaghetti, condiments, and other groceries.
What drew the most attention was the theft of a large container of garri, a staple in many Nigerian households. The video featured before-and-after shots of the room, showing shelves once filled with food reduced to near emptiness. A voiceover remarked: “In fact, they stole her garri plastic.”
The post has sparked sympathy and humour online, with many users reacting to the unusual nature of the theft.
