Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has suspended the ongoing Final Year Brethren (FYB) celebration following reports of disorder during the event.
The decision was announced on Monday in an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar. The FYB celebration, a long-standing tradition for graduating students, was said to have been disrupted after participants failed to maintain order.
Management said the suspension was necessary to safeguard peace and stability on campus. The memo, referenced REG.20/VOLIV/193, instructed all full-time students to vacate the institution immediately.
Officials added that the move was also aimed at ensuring discipline ahead of forthcoming examinations. The polytechnic has not disclosed when or if the celebrations will resume, but urged students to comply with the directive.
