The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full accreditation to 11 programmes at the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels at Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta, Kano State.
The approval, conveyed in a letter dated August 12 and signed by the NBTE’s Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, Dr Fatima Kabir Umar, followed a resource verification and accreditation exercise.
The accredited courses include HND in Horticultural Technology, Fisheries Technology, Pasture and Range Management, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence. ND programmes cleared are Home and Rural Economics, Wildlife and Eco-Tourism Management, Food Technology, Science Laboratory Technology, Environmental Science and Management, and Irrigation Agronomy.
Provost of the college, Prof M. A. Wailare, said the recognition marked a significant step forward for the institution, reflecting its improved facilities, academic standards and staff capacity. He thanked the Kano State Government for supporting the process and praised the efforts of staff and stakeholders.
NBTE accreditation certifies that technical and vocational programmes meet national and international standards. The college says the development will enhance research partnerships and its role in strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
